Most waterproof bags rely on a single line of defence. Oilproof: Oil-based liquids including sunscreen, body lotion, and food oils do not penetrate or stain. Relevant for beach, pool, and outdoor lifestyle contexts where DWR-only waterproofing consistently fails.
Antifouling: Surface contamination from mud, sand, and organic material does not adhere. Wipe-clean maintenance without detergent.
Every needle hole through fabric is a potential water entry point. Under sustained rain or hydrostatic pressure, even waterproof fabric fails at the seams if they are not sealed.
We apply seam tape sealing at all structural stress points: base corners, strap attachment junction seams, and top closure seams. The tape creates a secondary barrier independent of the fabric’s waterproof properties. If the outer fabric’s surface treatment degrades, the tape seal maintains waterproof integrity.
The zipper is the most common single point of failure in waterproof bags. Kingsons specifies YKK/SBS-grade waterproof zippers on all waterproof bag constructions, backed by laboratory testing most competitors do not perform.
